"I've owned the V955for 3 months, which is enough time to be able to write this V955 review. Thankfully, so far I have had very few false alerts or other issues. So far, I am delighted with the BEL Vector 955.

I drive 165 miles to and from work each day. Auto scan in the city has been great, and the false alerts are X band. It is no problem to block out the X band to get rid of the false alerts.

Generally, with my highway driivng, in highway mode, I almost never pick up a false signal. The greatest percentage of time, it's an X band signal false alert.

Sometimes I get laser false alerts when I hit direct sunlight. I simply press the mute button when I get these and it's no big deal. The most important thing is that the few times I've had a real laser alert, the cops were visible before hand, and I slowed down before they "shot me". Laser alert probably still has value, though.

Voice alert is pretty cool, especially if you rock out as the voice is loud enough. Generally, the voice is 2 or 3 seconds after the alert is sounded, so it kind of is like a double warning.

I am very satisfied with the Beltronics V955 and will be giving one to my son as a Christmas gift. The V955 has come to my rescue probably 5 times, and with the average ticket being about 145.00, it has been a great investment!"

"The Beltronics V955 felt sturdy right out of the box, actually heavier than I expected. This is my first radar detector, and, after talking to a guy that I work with, I bought it for a great price at Amazon.com.

I plan to take a trip across country by car, so it seemed to me that the V955 might come in handy, not to mention save me a bunch of money! My colleague at work took a similar trip last Summer, and he swears that the Bel vector 955 saved him no fewer than 11 times!

I love the fact that it can be adjusted for city and country driving conditions. Obviously, while driivng cross country, I will come across both types of conditions alot.

I have used it for about 3 weeks now, and the V955 has already saved me at least one ticket. The fact that it is easy to mount is a plus, however it is even better that you can take it off and carry it with you out of the car.
